A new study brings a shocking news to the world that children born to obese mothers are more likely to die early as adults than those whose mothers were a normal weight.Obesity is always stands as a great health problem in human being. our lifestyle is the main factor .With this new study it is cleared that our bad life style will effect the next generation also.
Researchers found that the offspring of obese mothers are one-third more likely to die before the age of 55, mainly as a result of heart disease.this new study, carried out by the researchers from Universities of Edinburgh and Aberdeen,they examined the health records of more than 37000 babies delivered between 1950 and 1976.
Children born to of mothers who were obese when they fell pregnant had almost a third more hospital admissions in later life for heart problems than for children born to mothers with a normal body weight.The reason included angina,hear attacks and strokes.This study follows a previous research which found that offspring born to obese mothers were more likely to develop high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.important factor is during the time frame of the study one in 25 expectant mothers was obese.But todays condition really shocking that is it is estimated at around one in five pregnant women are obese.
According to the researchers,The study needs more research for better understanding and prevention of the impact of obesity during pregnancy for offspring in later life.”This study highlights the importance of weight management in mothers and their offspring. We need to find out how to help young women and their children control their weight better so that chronic disease risk is not transmitted from generation to generation.” said Dr Sohinee Bhattacharya,University of Aberdeen
