India’s First Mars Mission expecting to launch today from Satish Dhawan Space Centre-2.38pm
India is now ready for the Launch of its First interplanetary mission to the Mars. The launching process is in the last stages.fourth phase propellant filling in progress.”Mangalyan” the Mars Space craft Scheduled for lift off on Tuesday afternoon from Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR located on Sriharikota Island off the coast of the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. As per the reports PSLV-C25 will lift off at 2.38pm today, carrying the Mars orbiter. 56.30 hour countdown began at 6.08am on Sunday .If this attempt succeeds india will become only the fourth country to reach the red planet Mars (Russia,United states of America, and Europe are the other countries). If this mission succeeds india will also become the first Asian country to reach Mars, previously both the mission of Japan and china fails to reach Mars. One of the important point is that India isn’t attempting to land on the Red planet ,but to reach orbit.
India’s Mars Satellite “Mangalyan”will collect information about the planet’s atmosphere and surface ,traces of methane and deuterium, signs of possible early life and water in Mars.Of the 51 such missions by the US and Russia/ USSR, only 21 have been successful. So the entire crew members of Satheesh Dhavan space center are in under pressure.Mangalyan has a 300-day, 780 million-kilometre (485 million-mile) journey to orbit Mars and survey its geology and atmosphere.
